A father mourns the death of two of his loved ones who lost their lives at the same time following a tragic event while he was away from them.

Joachim Mmeng’oru tried to brace himself as he gave a detailed account of what happened to his young boys before going back to school.
The grief-stricken father noted that he was not far from his children, Abednego Joachim (13) and Ebenezer Joachim (9), when they died.
Speaking at his home in Kinyamaki, Arumeru, Arusha, TanzaniaMmeng’oru said Abednego and his brother were with their mother when they died.
“He had taken them to the swimming pool at the hotel to eat and swim, then they were going to buy some school supplies. I don’t know what happened or if their mother left for a short time, but she came back to find them dead. They tried to save the boys, but they had already given up. It hurts me a lot. They didn’t even know how to swim at all,” he said.
Where was Mmeng’oru when his children died?
Mmeng’oru was with Moshi’s father when he received a sad call informing him that his two children were no longer alive.
She was taking care of a sick father when she heard the news, and immediately involved friends and family to confirm the information.
“I couldn’t leave at that time, so I called a few friends and family to check on my wife because she wasn’t talking. She was sad. I also made arrangements to go home to confirm the news and see the next step,” he said sadly.
Neighbors gathered at his house following the tragic incident while comforting the family due to their loss.
