Television preacher Bishop Ben Kiengei, one of the good Samaritans who came forward to vouch for Murimi after his story went viral in 2022, shared the encouraging news.

The JCM pastor took to Facebook to celebrate the young man’s milestone, expressing his pride in the way he made the step.

“Thank you so much for making me a proud man. Our boy is very loving. Indeed, the gospel of compassion has begun to reap its fruits,” he wrote.

Kiengei promised to continue to inform the public about how their first group of form four performed even as they continue to enjoy God’s grace.

The day Murimi took the rooster to school

Murimi’s journey touched the hearts of many Kenyans when pictures emerged of him arriving at Kangaru High School in Embu County carrying only one rooster, the only “fee” his family could afford.

Dressed in her primary school uniform and accompanied by her mother, she was turned away from the gate due to lack of fees.

It was found that Murimi could afford to pay school fees as he was being raised by a single mother who was struggling to earn a living.

The emotional photos of the 14-year-old boy, who had scored 313 marks in the 2021 KCPE exams, touched thousands of people and caused many people to support him.
