The ruling party is holding elections in 20 counties in the third phase of the big process.
The President, leading by example as a party leader, lined up at Koilel Primary School to vote and encouraged members in 20 counties to turn out.
“I voted in the election of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) at Koilel Primary School, Uasin Gishu County, to elect party officials. Polls are ongoing in 20 counties to elect 20 officials at the polling station level,” he said.
The President congratulated the candidates for appearing for the proposed positions.
He noted that their commitment to the processes and leadership of the UDA is important in his agenda for the country, because of the appreciation of leadership at the grassroots level.
“I congratulate all the candidates for stepping forward with the greatest number of aspirations to provide leadership at the grassroots level. Their commitment strengthens our party and advances the Agenda of Grassroots Economic Change, which is based on inclusive growth and shared prosperity,” he said.
The President appreciated the importance of political parties in Kenya’s democratic growth.
He said the UDA party will continue its values based on good governance.
“I also thank the members who have come out to vote and exercise their democratic right to elect party officials of their choice. As a party, we remain sincerely committed to democratic governance and a responsive leadership that listens to the people and implements their priorities,” he said.
The President drove himself to the school, where he received a rousing reception from the locals who had already gathered for the vote.
