The COTU leader emphasized that there is no current opposition leader with the influence or public appeal that Raila had.

“After Raila Amollo Odinga, let me tell you right away, there is no opposition in Kenya. There is no opposition in Kenya. You want to tell me, is there anyone in Kenya today who can take people to the streets, who can give Kenyans free holidays like Raila Amollo Odinga?” Atwoli asked.

Why is Atwoli doubtful about Kalonzo’s leadership?

Commenting on the expectations of other opposition leaders, Atwoli spoke about Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyokawho has previously run for the presidency and held important positions in the government.

Atwoli commended Kalonzo for his character, describing him as a diplomatic leader and a man of peace who can be trusted.

“Kalonzo Musyoka is a gentleman. And I was with Raila Amollo Odinga after the election. I was the one who told Raila, now Kalonzo Musyoka should be the leader of the opposition. This is a gentleman and he understands Diplomacy. He can be a priest. He can pray for anyone. He is a man of peace. He is someone you can trust with anything you have,” he said.

“Regarding the question of who will be the leader, this is the question I would ask you. Who do you think will be the leader? Who do you think it is? Because I don’t see anyone suitable to be the leader. I don’t see it. Because I know each of these people, along with their abilities,” Atwoli added.
