Announcement of KCSE 2025 Results: William Ruto Meets Julius Ogamba, Education Officials

As the prospect continues to attract candidates, parents and schools across the country, the President William Ruto On Wednesday evening he convened a high-level consultation meeting with important officials of the education sector.

This signaled that the wait for the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results is almost over.

The private meeting was held at the Nairobi Palace, and was chaired by the Minister of Education, Julius Migos Ogamba.

In a video that TUKO.co.ke watched, Ogamba was caught giving the president information about what is believed to be the status of the results, the examination process and preparations before the announcement.

He was accompanied by Secretary General, State Department of Basic Education Julius Bitok, and Secretary General Esther Muoria in charge of Vocational, Technical and Education and Training, along with other senior officials from the Ministry of Education.

The meeting also addressed issues such as student funding for primary, kindergarten and secondary schools, payment to publishers to ensure timely delivery of textbooks to schools across the country, and recruitment and promotion of teachers.

Such summaries are part of a long-standing protocol that requires the president to be officially updated by the Ministry of Education and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) before national examination results are made public.

The timing of the meeting came as Ruto prepared for a packed public schedule starting on Thursday.

Among the important planned activities is his role in managing activities related to the second phase of the National Youth Opportunities for Development (NYOTA) project, which is expected to initiate the provision of start-up capital in 27 counties from January 8.

KNEC has set up its network to check KCSE 2025 results

The State House meeting came just a day after KNEC launched its official portal to check results online, further fueling speculation that the release of results is imminent.

A review of the platform shows that the portal interface is open, although access to results remains limited until an official announcement is made.

A statement on the website reads: “Preliminary results of the 2025 KCSE examination will be available after the official announcement.”

Once the results are officially declared, candidates will be able to get their preliminary results online by entering their KCSE index number and selecting the exam year 2025 on the official portal.

The system allows candidates to view, download and print their result documents.

How many candidates took the 2025 KCSE exam?

The 2025 KCSE exams were held between October 21 and November 21, 2025, with oral and practical assessments conducted before written theory papers.

A total of 996,078 candidates were registered for the KCSE examinations, forming part of a wider national assessment cycle involving more than 3.4 million students in the KCSE, Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA).

During the examination period, the Ministry of Education reported 418 cases of violation of examination rules, marking a significant decrease from the 614 cases recorded in 2024.
