On Saturday, January 3, Sifuna caused a storm in the Orange party after claiming that the Minority Leader in the National Assembly Junet Mohamed mismanaged the campaign fund of Declaration of Unity 2022.
Speaking in Murang’a, Sifuna accused the Suna East MP of misusing campaign funds given by the former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
But responding to Sifuna’s allegations, the Narok senator strongly defended Junet, saying that the former president never handed over KSh 500 million meant for agents.

According to Olekina, the Nairobi senator was not truthful about issues related to Azimio’s campaign finances.
“Uhuru did not give Junet Mohamed money for the agents; he kept KSh 500,000,000 intended for the agents. Edwin Sifuna is not telling the truth,” Ledama said.
The Narok-speaking senator opposed Sifuna to withdraw from the Orange party instead of waiting for expulsion.
Ledama confirmed that the ODM general secretary will soon be expelled from the party, saying that the movement is tired of Sifuna’s empty threats.
“If you want to leave the ODM party, go ahead – no one is stopping you! Don’t wait for the expulsion, because that’s exactly what will happen soon! Enough with the empty threats – this noise is getting worse!” he said.
