AFCON 2025: Tanzanians Throw Bombs at Kenyans and Ugandans After Reaching the Round of 16

Taifa Stars made history on Tuesday evening, beating Tunisia in a straight draw and securing a place in the next stage for the first time.

How Tanzania qualified for the knockout stage of AFCON 2025

It was an impressive qualification, given that Tanzania did not win any of the three group stage matches. They lost against Nigeria in their opening game before drawing against Uganda.

However, their two points were enough to see them finish as one of the biggest losers as they eliminated Angola and Comoros.

Tanzania will have another chance to get their first victory AFCON when they play Morocco in the Round of 16 on Saturday.

At the same time, there was an uproar on social media as Tanzanians rejoiced in the history that their national men’s soccer team had created.

Tanzanians beat Kenya after making AFCON history

Making it to the knockout round was even sweeter when they beat them Uganda to third place in Group C while Kenya failed to qualify at all.

“After qualifying for the AFCON next stage, we can even beat Kenya and make it one of the many places we have.”

Shaban Fundi Sport said,

“What are our Kenyan brothers saying about Taifa Stars’ victory? Why is there so much silence?”

“Imagine watching on TV..keep crying, we don’t care because you sound jealous.”

Migono Migono said,

“Qualifying for the round of 16 with only two points is not an improvement. In fact, this concept of “best loser” should be completely removed from all competitions.”

For his part, Tanzania’s substitute coach, Miguel Gamondi, expressed his happiness after leading his team to the knockout stages. The Argentine was appointed in November.

“I didn’t have enough time to prepare the team, but we worked together with the leadership and the federation and we are very proud. Not only for me but for the country. I wanted to change this attitude of people who don’t have a chance. Qualifying is a good learning experience for Tanzania that they must be proud of. I hope this will be a reminder to these players and the next generation of players about the power of Tanzanian football,” he said via CAF Online.

The amount that Uganda will get in AFCON 2025

In a separate story, Uganda is set to earn millions despite early exit from AFCON 2025.

Cranes were closed and Nigeria 3-1 in the last game of the group stage and left the competition with only one point.

However, Paul Put’s squad will make millions from prize money in the tournament.
