1. Daily Nation
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) completed their investigation into the death of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo.
DCI detectives investigating Jirongo’s death have recommended a public inquiry after concluding that there was no evidence of foul play in the accident that killed the former Lugari MP.
The decision was reached after detectives ruled out murder, saying their findings so far point to a road accident.
“Considering the evidence gathered so far, there is nothing to indicate that Jirongo was killed,” detectives said in their recommendations to DCI boss Mohammed Amin.
Amin revealed that detectives had interviewed passengers traveling in a white Probox that was caught on CCTV following Jirongo’s car last night, and confirmed that the car was not involved in his death.

The newspaper reported on a secret meeting between some senior leaders of the ODM party and the President William Ruto.
President Ruto is reported to have secretly met with senior ODM leaders in Transmara on Christmas Day in talks that insiders say were aimed at weakening ODM from within and eventually merging it with the ruling United Democratic Union before 2027.
According to multiple sources within ODM and the government, the two-hour meeting brought together a select group of senior ODM leaders.
Those who attended included party leader Oburu Oginga, Minister Wycliffe OparanyaEnergy Minister Opiyo Wandayi, Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, and Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir.
According to sources, the meeting was not about cooperation but about a planned plan to break ODM as an independent political force.
