Member of Parliament for Kiharu, Ndindi Nyoro, has confirmed that his relationship with the President William Ruto has not continued since he left the Budget and Appropriations Committee.

Nyoro was among Ruto’s top aides ahead of the 2022 General Election.

Perhaps as a reward for his loyalty, Nyoro was appointed the first chairman of the influential committee in the 13th Parliament.

He served in that position, where he was supporting President Ruto’s agenda. Nyoro led the committee until March this year, when he was replaced by the Member of Parliament for Alegi Usonga, Sam Atandi.

Speaking to NTV on December 26, the member of parliament revealed that he had no contact with the president since he left the committee.

“I think the last time we spoke with the president was near the last time I was serving as chairman of the budget committee,” he said.

Despite the silence between them, he has said that he has never harbored hatred against the president. According to him, events such as being removed from a powerful committee and then his relationship with the president becoming cold are political matters that one should not think too much about.

He said he vowed not to let the poison of politics affect him.

“Many people sit down to plan things in politics. That’s what I saw. People sit down to plan things. You should use your mind to understand why those things are planned, especially if they are planned against you. When people sit down to plan things against you, then you become possessed by anger, then you inject the poison of negative thoughts, the loser is you, because you are playing in their game,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nyoro vowed never to engage in toxic political arguments with the president even if provoked.

The Member of Parliament noted that his progress in politics so far does not give him a reason to engage in verbal attacks against those who are alleged to be his political opponents.
