Hermstone Makam and Penninnah Manyara received their 3 bedroom houses on Boxing Day, December 26.
Sudi recognized Makam’s dedication and service since 2011 when they met for the first time.
The MP recalled meeting the man in Nairobi, when he was working at a construction site.
After their brief conversation, Makam offered to wash Sudi’s car, a situation that fueled their friendship to this day.

“When I met Hermstone Makam in 2011 on Riara Road in Nairobi, he was working at a construction site and he asked me if he could volunteer to wash my car, and I agreed. I saw that he was a good and honest worker, so I decided to hire him. I asked if he could work for me because I saw that he is a good person,” he said.
How did Sudi remember Makam?
Due to his commitment to the free car wash service that Makam provided, Sudi chose to hire him as the manager of his farm in Kapseret.
“After watching him work and wash my car for a while, I gave him fare, and he moved to Eldoret, Kapseret, where I had moved to before I led as an MP. He took care of my area before I started building my house… the place was far away, there was not even electricity.
He waited patiently, doing daily chores like planting flowers and doing garden work while I was building my house,” said Sudi.
Sudi thanked Makam for putting up with the problems while he (Sudi) was progressing.

The MP revealed that he got along with Makam long before he developed his current house.
He recognized him for giving the place a beautiful appearance during construction, making it the beautiful landscape it is today.
Sudi was interested, and from then on he promised to pay her a gift when the time came.
That promise was fulfilled 14 years later, with Sudi handing over the keys to their fully furnished modern home on December 26.
“He did a great job, and I made a promise that I would help him have a place of his own one day. He has managed me for 14 years, changing the place where we stayed… Recently, I remembered our promise (he didn’t look for me), so I gave him a 3-room house today. Because of his trust and loyalty, I decided to take care of him with his patience, honesty, and hard work,” he said.
Penninnah Manyara received the house on behalf of her son
Meanwhile, Peninah received a house on behalf of her son, Dwayne Mungai, who worked for Sudi while he was building his Timber XO building, an entertainment complex in Eldoret.
Mungai, for luck bad, he got sick and died 10 months ago.
“When Peninah Manyara (Mama Mungai) lost her son Dwayne Mungai 10 months ago, I was touched because Dwayne was a skilled IT professional who worked for us. I decided to give the mother a house in honor of her deceased son. His strength, hard work, and dedication to uplift his community left a lasting impression, and this gift is a small tribute to his legacy,” said Sudi.
