Karua gave this information while burying Jirongo at the CITAM Valley Road worship service on Saturday, December 27.
This follows the death of Jirongo on the morning of Saturday, December 13, in a tragic accident in Karai, Naivasha.
The accident happened a few hours after Jirongo had a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula Karen, in Nairobi.
After his sudden death, several leaders called for a thorough investigation, with many suggesting the possibility of deception and wondering why he drove to Naivasha when Gigiri was supposed to be at his home.
Did Cyrus Jirongo fear for his life?
While at the service, Karua remembered how he met Jirongo in court before entering politics.
According to him, the late political writer had gone to save a close friend who now has a high position in the government.
In addition, he revealed that Jirongo expressed fear about his safety, noting that no one had publicly committed to address the issue.
“Cyrus was worried about his safety. He was not only ready, but he was planning how to better protect himself. This accident happened before that time. So those questions will continue, but today we stand with the family to pour out a man with a big heart, generous, and who loved humanity. He always thought about improving what was there,” he said while urging politicians to focus on improving Kenya.
Did Karua encourage Jirongo’s business partners?
Karua, the opposition leader, also encouraged Jirongo’s business partners to pursue his dreams.
“Keep thinking big. He’s gone before he can achieve his big dreams, and I’m sure he could. Keep his dreams going and benefit his family. Rest in peace, Cyrus, until we meet again,” he added.
