Peter Mwangi Wanyeki was reportedly stabbed to death in a bar in Muragara Shopping Center by his girlfriend, Edith Muthoni, aged 40, following a heated argument.
According to Citizen Digital, the incident happened when the Wanyeki family was celebrating Christmas in their country house.
“We were together enjoying Christmas when I got a call,” said Robert Wanyeki, the deceased’s brother, who identified the alleged suspect as a woman from the neighboring village of Kandegwa.
The family demanded justice after finding Mwangi lying in a pool of blood.
What caused the alleged murder of Peter Mwangi?
According to the witnesses of the incident, the killing happened following a dispute about the alcohol bill of KSh 60 they had used.
It is alleged that Muthoni rushed to get a knife and stabbed Mwangi in the chest, killing him on the spot after their quarrel broke out.
“I was using a knife to cut potatoes when he suddenly took it,” claimed one witness, adding that he was preparing food for Christmas celebrations.
Kirinyaga West Sub-County Police Commander, Jos Mudavadi, confirmed the incident, saying that detectives are following the footsteps to arrest the suspect, who fled immediately after the attack.
He urged the public to provide any information that would help in his arrest.
At the same time, the police moved the body to the morgue of the area for the necessary procedures while the investigation continues.
