Kirinyaga: A 40-year-old woman, Edith Muthoni, who fled after allegedly killing her lover, has been arrested.

Muthoni and her 52-year-old boyfriend, Peter Mwangi Wanyeki, allegedly spent Christmas Day together at a bar in Muragara Business Center when when a dispute arose over the KSh 60 bill for alcohol they drank together.
According to witnesses, when the argument escalated, Muthoni grabbed a kitchen knife from the barman who was carving potatoes for Christmas dinner and stabbed Mwangi in the chest, killing him instantly.
How was Edith Muthoni arrested?
On Friday, December 26, Citizen Digital reported that Ndia Divisional Police Commissioner (Kirinyaga West) Jos Mudavadi confirmed that investigative officers tracked him down and arrested him in Kandegwa village while he was hiding.

“He had run away after the incident. Our officers found out where he is and arrested him,” he said.
Mudavadi said Muthoni is currently being held at the Baricho Police Station while investigations are ongoing.
Mwangi’s family, who received news of his death while still celebrating Christmas at home, expressed relief after his arrest.
They regretted that despite Mwangi being a respected driver who helped many in the community, his life was cut short during what should be a festive season.
With his arrest, the family expressed hope that justice will be done for their deceased brother.
A young girl is arrested for allegedly killing her boyfriend, 41
Elsewhere, a 17-year-old girl, Belinda Luck Achieng’, was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his 41-year-old boyfriend, Collins Onyango, to death during a domestic dispute on Jogoo Road, Nairobi.
The police report said that Achieng’ grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Onyango in the neck, after a heated argument between them, leaving him seriously injured.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Edel Vale Trust Jamaa Mission Hospital.
The suspect, who suffered injuries from the mob attack, was rescued by officers and taken to the Mother Lucy Kibaki hospital for treatment before being detained.
