Climax Coaches Explains How The Passengers Of The Bus That Killed Cyrus Jirongo Left The Accident Site

Climax Coaches has broken its silence on the terrifying accident of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo.

Jirongo died on December 13 after his Mercedes Benz was crushed by a moving Climax bus kiss at speed carrying passengers from Nairobi.

The accident sparked rumors, with some parties claiming foul play in the accident.

Conspiracy theories were so strong that the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) launched an extensive investigation into the crash.

Many questions remained about the whereabouts of the bus passengers, as none came forward to give their details.

The bus driver was the only one who explained how the accident happened.

Now it seems that the bus passengers did not stay long at the accident site.

According to the company, the passengers were taken from the accident site by an empty bus coming from Western Kenya, and continued their journey.

Meanwhile, the passenger list released by Climax Coaches showed that the bus had 51 passengers, with 46 having their details captured on the list.

This contradicted the explanation of the driver who said he was carrying 67 people.

The driver is still under police investigation, and his last police appearance was on December 22.

driver, Tyre Kamau, is currently out on bail pending investigation; according to the DCI, he could face charges of causing death by dangerous driving if evidence shows his role.

On the other hand, DCI provided details of images captured by surveillance cameras at the Eagol Petrol Station in Naivasha, where Jirongo spent less than two minutes before the accident that claimed his life.

According to DCI, Jirongo’s Mercedes-Benz collided with a Climax bus shortly after 2:19 am, the collision sending the car 25 meters away while the bus stopped about 50 meters from the accident site.

Forensic teams from Nairobi found key evidence, with CCTV footage forming part of the investigation.

The photo shows Jirongo arriving at 2:18:40 am from the Nairobi side, stopping for a short time at the station without refueling.

At 2:19:10 am, he stopped near the exit door, then turned right at 2:19:19 am, heading back towards Nairobi.

Just six seconds later, at 2:19:25 am, the cameras caught the bus hitting his car.

Jirongo died on the spot, having sustained serious injuries, including broken legs.

The former Member of Parliament will be buried at his home in Lumakanda, Kakamega County.
