- Two groomsmen and a female guest were prevented from entering the church where they had gone to attend a wedding, simply because of their hairstyles and their clothing, respectively.
- They were surprised, asking why they were expelled, while God looks at the heart and not the way a person is dressed
- While some people on the internet were on their side, others insisted that they should respect the position of the church on such matters and wait at the party

In a video shared on Linda Ikeji’s blog, the two men looked stylish in their tailored beige suits, white shirts, and brown ties with flowers.
It appeared that the church had no problem with the way the two young men dressed, but refused to allow them to enter the wedding because of their hairstyles.
One of the men had his hair cut, while the other had his long dreadlocks braided as well.
As for the woman, she was refused entry because she was wearing a tight-fitting white dress, and the church did not want that.
The three angry people took a video outside the church complaining about what just happened.
“They have expelled us from the church; we have spent a lot of money to attend our friend’s wedding as groomsmen, but they have expelled us. Look at the girl there; she has been told her dress is too tight,” said one of the porters
“I thought God looks at our hearts, not the way we dress,” wondered his friend.

There were divided opinions after the incident, with some social media users asking them to choose peace and just wait for the party, while others wondered why they did not want to follow the rules, when they would do so at a traditional place of worship.
Some people wondered why the bride and groom did not tell them anything about the dress code, when they must have known about the rules.
People’s opinions
Adeoye Florence Modupe: “Is it necessary to enter the church? Go and wait for them at the party, thank God, you are not the groom.”
Vandi Tijjani: “Give us the address please, whenever I am in PH, I will go there for fellowship.”
Ikechi Chisom: “If the people who do the wedding or the groomsmen are famous, they will not expel them, moreover they are not even members of their church. I looked at the wedding of the Legendary Kanu Nwankwo and he had braided hair. They should go to the banquet hall and relax.”
Ezeh Tobechukwu Reinhard: “God bless the church for looking beyond expensive suits to emphasize the law and order they want their church to be associated with. Good thing!”
Prince Muttaqi: “Go to the garden, arrange seats, call the priest to bless, and go to the party. I know it is the policy of the church; we will not stop you, but leave and do something else.”
Wow!: “Kudos to the priest and the leadership of the church. Every organization/church has rules… it’s not a club, dress responsibly or go straight to the party.”
A Woman Who Was Expelled from the Church for Blasphemy Speaks Out
In another story, Milka Moraa, who was locked out of her house with her two children, hoped to find help at the Neno Evangelism Centre, but was turned away.
In the service, Father James Ng’ang’a told him to go and seek help from Johnson or the police and insisted that his church was only for spiritual feeding and not for financial support.
According to Moraa, it was a very painful experience for her, and she wouldn’t wish it on anyone else.
