Survivor 6: Kenyans are excited after the old bus managed to reach Busia from Nairobi safely

The photo showed a blue and white bus, named after Survivor 6taking passengers to kissa journey that few believed would complete.

The bus registered as KUV 164 is known in Nairobi as a city service bus, and for a long time it has been used for short journeys after new and modern buses take long journeys.

However, with the Christmas season approaching and thousands rushing to travel to the countryside, its owner took a heroic decision: sending the old machine on a 465km journey to western Kenya.

For many, the idea seemed like an unreasonable hope.

The festive season is known for traffic jams, crowded vehicles and transportation problems.

Due to the age of Survivor 6 and his usual town routine, suspicions spread. However, a group of passengers, motivated by urgency, curiosity or pure faith, paid the ticket and boarded the bus.

The next trip lasted eight hours and was monitored live on the internet. Kenyans across the country were following the progress of the bus, sharing photos and information on Facebook.

Each post infused a mixture of anxiety, humor and surprise, as the unlikely candidate moved on, moving slowly through traffic, highways and countryside.

Then we came to a time when many had despaired that he would not come. Contrary to expectations, Survivor 6 arrived in Busia, safe and victorious.

Online, the response was overwhelming. Some said it was a miracle, others called it a lesson in patience. For many, the name of the bus suddenly seemed to have a prophetic meaning.

Is age really golden?

More than a celebration, the trip sparked a wide debate, some people questioning the belief that old cars can’t make long trips.

Many praised the bus for breaking stereotypes and emphasized that proper maintenance and a healthy engine are more important than age.

As holiday travel continues, Survivor 6 it has turned out to be more than that. It is a symbol of patience, creativity and hope. Many Kenyans will continue to monitor to see if then the hero will make it back to Nairobi safely.

Kenyans track the “Beast” ship online

The memorable trip brings back memories of March 2024, when Kenyans tracked the vehicles that took the ship to its destination Uganda.

Leaving the port of Mombasa on February 8, 2024, it took more than 23 days to reach Malaba, following a different and longer route due to its height and other obstacles on the road.

The cargo trailer passed through various counties, following a carefully planned route to avoid accidents, with Kenyans taking photos at each stop and sharing their experiences online.
