Hundreds of residents, mostly women, turned up at Sudi’s house to receive Christmas food supplies, making the event a colorful and lively celebration.
Drone images viewed by TUKO.co.ke showed thousands of women entering the compound, each carrying bags and packages of various foods that were being taken to their homes.
Speaking during the event, Sudi said that the number of residents who were participating has been increasing for some time, which made him increase preparations for this year’s celebrations.
He recalled that during last year’s festivities, he planned to serve about 5,000 people, but that number exceeded expectations.
How many Christmas presents did Sudi give the residents of Kapseret?
This time, the staunch lawmaker said he intended to serve at least 12,000 people to ensure many families could celebrate Christmas with dignity.
Addressing the crowd, Sudi wished the residents a happy festive season and encouraged them to unite, live in peace and harmony, while calling for an end to ethnic divisions in the country.
“Love each other and unite, and stop racial discrimination. Kapseret has representation from all Kenyan tribes. Let everyone from Kisii, Turkana, and all other parts of the country be happy and proud to be a Kenyan,” he said.
The Member of Parliament also used the event to encourage residents to support the presidency William Ruto in the 2027 election, while showing several development projects implemented in Kapseret under his leadership.
Why did Sudi distribute Christmas gifts only to women
Sudi also explained why the food gifts were only aimed at women, explaining that women are more honest and careful when it comes to household duties.

According to him, women were more likely to ensure that food reached their families, unlike some men who, he said, could move the supplies to other places.
“These Christmas gifts we give to women because the food will arrive at home. The problem with men, we don’t know. If you look at these gifts, they will pass other places and only half will reach home,” said Sudi.
Members of Parliament distributed Christmas food to the people
Elsewhere, other leaders in the country also celebrated the festive season through acts of generosity.
Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah spent the day distributing Christmas gift packages to over 400 families with disabilities in his constituency, as part of efforts to promote inclusion and compassion during the festive season.
Later that day, Ichung’wah expanded the program to Nachu and Karai wards, as well as the Shauri area in Kinoo ward, to ensure more families get help for the ceremony.
Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita also distributed various Christmas and year-end gifts to his residents.
“This year, as it was last year, we will continue to extend our helping hand to reach more friends as often as we can… Please, in this festive season, continue to share the love of Christ, with your neighbors and your friends,” said Nyamita.
