Sifuna was speaking for Vihiga over the weekend, when he attended a music festival organized by Vihiga senator, Godfrey Osotsi, in Chavakali, Sabatia.
Addressing the meeting, the courageous senator warned that anyone who claims to buy ODM has been deceived.
What did Sifuna say about the alleged sale of ODM
“There are people who say that the party has been sold. I want to tell them that if you are the one who has been said to have bought the party, then know that you have been deceived. Selling ODM is the same as selling Uhuru Park, which is public property. ODM is public property. You cannot sell it,” said Sifuna.

He emphasized that ODM is not owned by individuals but by Kenyans, stressing that the direction of the party can only be decided by the voters.
“Kenyans are the ones who decide whether the party will go left or right. For someone who is said to have bought ODM, you have been badly served. If some people took your deposit, you will question them yourself. We do not know anything about the matter,” he added.
Sifuna also targeted the recent statements of the President William Rutowhere he has repeatedly promised to transform Kenya into a first-class country like Singapore.
Sifuna has defended Kalonzo against Ruto’s attacks
He criticized the president for what he called a big promise while at the same time disparaging other leaders, including the leader of Wiper, Kalonzo Musyoka.
Ruto had earlier criticized Kalonzo for serving the government for more than four decades without improving the infrastructure in his rural area, comments which Sifuna said showed wrong priorities.
“I want to tell Ruto that the leadership we want in Kenya is not one where, once you get power, you only think about yourself and the people of your area. As a leader, you cannot wash your hands and eat while Kenyans are hungry. A good leader eats last, after his people eat,” said Sifuna.
The Secretary General of ODM warned that dreams of turning Kenya into Singapore would continue to remain impossible dreams if the Kenya First administration continues with what he called a culture of self-indulgence.
He dismissed the idea that “discipline begins at home,” stressing that although it can be used for private property, public resources must benefit all Kenyans equally.
Did Ruto buy ODM from Junet, Wanga?
Sifuna’s statements come a few weeks after the leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), Rigathi Gachaguaclaiming that Ruto has taken control of ODM through a scheme involving senior party leaders, Junet Mohamed and Gladys Wanga.
Speaking at the DCP headquarters in Nairobi while welcoming the new party leaders, Gachagua claimed the two leaders had already received advance payments as part of the alleged deal.
He also claimed that Junet intended to stay behind on the day ODM founder, Raila Odinga died, to facilitate the alleged transaction, a move he said was intended to weaken the party from within.
Gachagua warned that ODM could be reduced to a regional party based mainly on the Luo Nyanza, citing the by-election results as evidence of its declining influence nationally.
