CCTV images from the gas station that Jirongo entered moments before the fatal accident have raised new questions about the circumstances of his death.

Contrary to the claims of the Climax bus driver involved in the accident, who claimed that Jirongo was trying to overtake other vehicles in the queue, before the accident at 8pm, CCTV images show that the road was clear and Jirongo was not overtaking other vehicles.

The politician-turned-businessman was seen driving a white Mercedes-Benz to a petrol station at 2:18 am, coming from Nairobi.

However, Jirongo did not stop at the fuel pumps.

Instead, he turned into the station at 2:18 a.m., headed back toward the exit, returning to the street in the direction he came from.

Six seconds later, at 2:19 am, Jirongo collided with a Climax bus heading towards Naivasha from Nairobi. The bus dragged his car for some distance before finally stopping.

After the accident, the road remained open for a while.

Another car appeared about a minute later, slowed down but did not stop.

CCTV footage also shows that no passenger got off the bus to check the accident in the dangerous area.

The Climax driver said he was transporting 67 passengers, but no one has opened up publicly about the incident despite repeated questions.

More excitement has emerged from footage suggesting that Jirongo was being tracked by a white Probox seconds before the accident.

The car entered the gas station just 29 seconds after Jirongo, which raised questions about how the two cars followed each other in less than a few minutes at the station.

Jirongo left the station just six seconds after Probox entered.

It is not clear if the Probox was oiled, which gave rise to speculation that Jirongo tried to avoid the car which he may have suspected was following him from Nairobi.

Security expert George Musamali, speaking to NTVsaid the sequence of these events is a puzzle and not just a coincidence.

According to Musamali, Jirongo could have changed his route after realizing he was being hunted.

“In order to protect those who were following him, he drove from Nairobi instead of going to his home in Gigiri. That is why he went to Naivasha. In the process of avoiding those who were following him, he turned a corner through a petrol station to quickly confuse them,” said Musamali.

The expert also questioned the Climax driver’s statement about how the accident happened.

It has also been revealed that Jirongo did not attend the goat eating party with friends on the night of the accident, despite being called several times.

Former Vihiga senator, George Khaniri, said Jirongo did not appear at the ceremony as they had previously agreed.

The group finished their activity at about half past eight, then Khaniri drove to Karen Oasis, where he found Jirongo sitting in a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula.

Khaniri, who was accompanied by his wife, said he did not get out of the car and instead turned a corner and drove to another restaurant.

However, it has also been found that the car involved in the fatal accident was not Jirongo’s.

According to the records of the Road Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), the Mercedes-Benz with registration numbers KCZ 350C is registered to Smart Cars Limited, not to the former MP.
