A video had emerged showing Jirongo’s last moments drinking with his friends before he was confirmed dead a few hours later.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula had also shared that he had spent the night with her in Karen before he left.
However, rumors have also been circulating that a purse was allegedly found in his car, and politicians, especially those from the Jirongo tribe and the opposition, have condemned this narrative.

What did Gloria Orwoba say about Cyrus Jirongo?
Gloria Orwoba, at Jirongo’s home, mourned him as a faithful man who lived his life openly.
“A respectable person being slandered. And what you saw is that all these narratives are pushed. I don’t know a woman’s purse, and I don’t know what. CJ lived his life openly. He was the most open and honest person you know as a politician. Even trying to slander him in the sense that he had a girlfriend or not, this is a man whose house we are, and we have seen his wives united,” he said.
He also accused the government of being behind the stories, trying to imply that Jirongo had a woman the night before his death.
“I don’t know why there is a big drive to slander him. I believe it is the government pushing that he was driven or dumped a woman somewhere. Whatever it is, I think that is the sad thing. And I think it is very fair for a respectable person like CJ to be slandered in the way that the government is trying to do right now. The family and Kenyans deserve answers. To be told what happened to him, he was not afraid and unfortunately, in this country, it costs you to speak,” he added.
