Ojwang died at the Nairobi Central Police Station for unexplained reasons after he was arrested at his father’s house in Homa Bay County.

His death led to protest across the country, while Kenyans want the Deputy Chief Commissioner Eliud Lagat to resign, who was linked to the murder.

He recused himself to allow the investigation and was later cleared of charges, while the family continues to seek justice for their family member.

During his funeral, his mother questioned why the police did not shoot her instead of her only living child, remembering how he was struggling to educate himself.

He asked the government to ensure that the officers who oppressed him and killed his son are brought to court.

What did Albert Ojwang’s wife say about the murder case?

However, Ojwang’s wife, Nevninah, shared a photo of a passport printed with her husband’s photo, with the words “Justice for Albert Ojwang” in the colors of the Kenyan flag.

He questioned how justice is delayed in the country, including how independent institutions help those affected.

“What kind of country is this? Independent Institutions? Sadness is heavy, but injustice makes it unbearable,” he wrote on Facebook.

Some people criticized him for his sentiments, arguing that he should not have accepted government aid for Ojwang’s funeral, which forced him to respond.

She claimed that she was speaking on behalf of everyone affected and not just her husband’s case.

According to the mother of one, Albert was her longtime friend, and they met for the first time in 2021 when he was Poisonous and a mutual friend from Pwani University introduced him.

She added that the friend later gave Albert her number, and they kept in touch and built a romantic relationship that was beginning to succeed.
