Kakamega: A Newly Married Man Loses His Wife In An Accident That Killed 10 People After His Wedding

  • Elders and choir members from Nyamira had traveled to Kakamega to attend the wedding, which was very beautiful. The groom asked his guests to stay the night, but they told him they had already made other plans
  • When they said goodbye to their brothers, they later got the sad news that those who were returning to Nyamira were involved in an accident, and 10 people lost their lives
  • The couple is now facing great pain, while also having to raise money to bury their relatives who died in the accident

Kakamega, Kenya: A family in Kakamega county has been plunged into grief after losing 10 people who had attended a wedding in Homa Bay county lost their lives, and newly married Kepha mourns his in-laws.

Citizen TV reported that the 10 dead were choir members and family members. The guests had come from as far as Nyamira, and according to the groom Kepha Angaya, he offered them a place to stay that night but they refused.

What did Kepha say?

The survivors were later transferred to Nyamira County Referral Hospital for further treatment.

“I told them that we had prepared a place for them to sleep, but they said they had a bus that would come to pick them up. I have not been able to eat or sleep; I always feel like it was a dream,” said Kepha.

“At nine o’clock in the morning I got a phone call, and my sister told me that our parents died in an accident,” said a family member.

Great pain after a couple and a child died in an accident

A road accident occurred on the 13th of December in Ekerenyo Ward, Nyamira County, where eight people lost their lives.

Family members gathered at the morgue of the Nyamira County Referral Hospital to identify the bodies of their loved ones.
