Festus Amimo: Befriend the KBC Presenter who died Build a Lion for his Son to Last for 6 Days

Festus died in a hotel room in Nairobi, his death leaving many in great shock as he was still young and had high hopes for life.

According to the Luo traditions, the first son of Festus, who is a boy, should be made a lion in the homestead in the village. Initially, the friends planned to build a temporary corrugated iron building to fulfill the tradition.

However, Ugenya Member of Parliament David Ochieng’ had a different plan and decided to build a permanent home for the young man.

In a unique act of sincere brotherhood, Ochieng’ chose to build a permanent house instead of a temporary one, and completed it in just six days.

Blogger Jarunda Jaluth Mambobiad dubbed it the fastest built permanent lion ever witnessed in Luo Nyanza.

What did MP Ochieng’ do about Festus Amimo’s grave?

In addition to building the lion, Ochieng’ also paid for the tomb of Festus, ensuring his friend was buried with honor and dignity.

“This is the example of true friendship not in words, but in actions,” said Jarunda.

Festus Amimo will be buried this week at his home in the village, while his son is now under a roof built on love, loyalty and unshakable brotherhood.

“Rest in peace, Festus. Your legacy stands strong. To Ochieng’: Thank you for showing us the meaning of true friendship,” he added.
