Ogeta held a party at his home in Uyoma village, Siaya County, as a welcoming ceremony after a long period of mourning for his former boss, Raila Odinga, who died on Wednesday, October 15, and was buried on Sunday, October 19.
Special leaders at the party were the leaders of the Roots Party of Kenya George Wajackoyahformer Minister Moses Kuria, and political enthusiast Nuru Okanga.

During the ceremony, the entire Ogeta family stood up and introduced the guests.
Ogeta’s elder sister introduced the relatives by their names.
He introduced Ogeta’s fiancee as Ann.
When it was her turn to speak, Ogeta began by introducing her stepmother, who is the only living mother in their extended family.
He introduced his fiancee as “madam.”
“For our guests, this is my remaining mother. I was told my father had eight wives, I think. This was his third wife… And now, this is my madam,” he said.

Did Maurice Ogeta reward his relatives?
In November, photos and videos surfaced showing Ogeta visiting his newly completed three-story building Bondo.

According to Okanga, Ogeta always ensured that one could reach Raila.
“He didn’t stop anyone from reaching Dad. From my interactions with all of them, Maurice was very honest, and their relationship was very close. Today, I’m here to look at him and see how he continues to live after two months of great sadness, having cried day and night since Dad’s funeral.”
The pictures showed the appearance of Ogeta’s permanent building.
Outside the house, Ogeta’s area can be accessed through a black gate in a sparsely populated area.
The area is large, and there is another palace in it. Ogeta’s house is built using decorative stones and a purple roof.
