President William Ruto has stepped in to help gospel singer Njeru Thiga, who recently revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer.

According to his wife, Njambi, the discovery shocked them as previous medical tests only identified digestive problems.
After the news, the philanthropist and gospel singer Muraya peanuts started an online campaign to collect urgent funds for Thiga to receive treatment in India.

On Sunday, December 14, President Ruto appeared at the AIPCA Gatundu North Constituency, Kiambu. MC Kogi Investor welcomed the president and explained Thiga’s condition, even singing one of his psychologically attractive songs.
“Njeru Thiga is one of our artists here in Mount Kenya. The singers have now sent me to you again because you helped us when we were saying goodbye to Betty Bayo by giving us KSh 5 million. The singer is in a bad condition, and we spent the night raising money to take him to India. The singers have sent me to ask you to help us help him,” said Kogi.
Responding to the request, President Ruto promised a generous donation to support Thiga’s treatment.
“Njeru Thiga has cancer? I will give you KSh 2 million; you can come tomorrow,” the president said, something that got cheers from the crowd.
Later, Thiga showed his gratitude on Facebook saying: “May a day like this not come to you my friends. May God protect you,” while sharing videos of kneeling and praying for them.

What happened to Betty Bayo?
TUKO.co.ke previously reported that he is a gospel singer Betty Bayo He died after being diagnosed with an advanced form of blood cancer.
He died while being treated at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
