The 64-year-old politician died in a road accident that left his family and the entire nation in deep sorrow.
It is reported that Jirongo was on his way to Nairobi from Nakuru when his Mercedes-Benz collided head-on with a passenger bus that was coming to Karai, Naivasha around 9 am.
It is believed that Jirongo’s car was on the wrong side of the road when it collided with a Climax bus, which caused the sudden death of the former MP.
An eyewitness shared a video of the accident scene shortly after it happened, describing what he saw.
What did the witness say about the Jirongo accident?
The man, in the video of TikTok under the username Trucker’s Obsession, he explained that a passenger bus appeared to run over the bonnet of a Mercedes-Benz and completely damaged it.
He expressed concern about the selfishness of some bus company drivers, claiming that they were involved in several accidents in the past.

The witness also doubted whether the person in the private car could have survived the accident.
“I don’t think he’s alive. I see they’re trying to get him out of the car. You can go and see for yourself. As for me, I don’t like to get too close to events like this. Now, look how they’re pulling him out with a rope. These buses are useless,” he told his friends who were in the car.
At the scene of the incident, residents and the police seemed to cooperate in restoring order to the road.
Jirongo’s car was in the middle of the road, bent to one side after the collision, while the Climax bus was in front of it.
Other cars also held their positions so that the police could handle the area and remove the remains of the accident.
Officers from the Naivasha Police Station, who inspected the area, confirmed that the collision was so bad that the former MP died on the spot.
Jirongo’s body was moved to the Naivasha Sub County Mortuary before being taken to Lee Funeral Home at the request of his family.
Kenyans’ feelings about the accident that killed Jirongo
Gandia:
“But this looks like a climb, so Jirongo had the right of way.”
Fish:
“Apparently the ramp was congested, so they decided to divert traffic. Just look at how the cars are lined up.”
Mr. Anjumbaise:
“Walai, bus and trailer drivers often look down on small cars. But if it was a bus, I’m sure they would try their best.”
Evans: “All long distance buses should be fitted with working dashboard cameras. NTSA should make this a requirement.”
Michael Olunga:
“Now, this is the real video of the road accident. Forget what people are saying out there.”
What did Jirongo’s family say?
According to a TUKO.co.ke report, the family of the deceased political candidate questioned the police account of his fatal accident.
Jirongo’s family claimed he was on his way to his Gigiri home after leaving Karen on the night of Friday, December 12, contrary to the police report.
The family’s spokesperson, Fred Gumo, questioned how the former member of parliament managed to get to the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, as he had left Karen for his home.
