Cyrus Jirongo: Winnie Odinga Mourns Former Member of Parliament who Died, Afichua Studied with Her Daughter

Winnie Odinga he paid his respects to the late Cyrus Jirongo, who was once the Member of Parliament for Lugari.

Jirongo died in a fatal road accident on the Nakuru-Nairobi road in the early hours of Saturday, December 13.

His Mercedes-Benz car that was heading to Nairobi collided with a passenger bus that was traveling from Nairobi to kiss.

He suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.

Winnie has joined the list of leaders who mourned the politician.

Winnie Odinga’s condolences to Cyrus Jirongo

The daughter described Jirongo as a strong person and revealed that she had known him since she was a child.

Winnie also remembered that they were studying together with Jirongo’s daughter, Lorraine Elizabeth Khalamwa Jelagat Jirongo, who died on March 10 this year after a short illness.

“I would like to offer my condolences to the Jirongo family. I have known this family since I was a child. I was in the same school as his daughter who also unfortunately died this year. My apologies to the people of Lugari, friends, family and all those affected by Jirongo’s death.

Jirongo was a very strong man. He was so powerful that in those days the 500 shilling note was called ‘Jirongo’. He was a member of YK92, one of Moi’s youths. He did many things and brought change and great contribution to this country. Again, we offer our deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.” he said.

How did William Ruto mourn Cyrus Jirongo?

As previously reported, the President William Ruto he joined other leaders in mourning the politician.

Ruto paid tribute to Jirongo, praising him as an ambitious leader, a successful businessman, and a politician whose contribution was seen in the political and economic fields in Kenya over the years.

He praised Jirongo’s generosity and commitment to supporting projects that uplifted the lives of others, while recalling their long friendship and Jirongo’s steadfastness in public and private life.

Ruto emphasized that Jirongo’s contribution had an important role in strengthening Kenya’s democratic journey and leaving a lasting mark in the nation’s political history.
