Nyeri County: Truphena Muthoni, a 22-year-old young woman who is trying to break her own record of hugging a tree for 72 hours, prepared well for the mission and shared that fasting on some days was among the methods she used.

In 2024, Truphena hugged a tree for 48 hours, leaving many in awe of her commitment to environmental conservation.

In his quest to win the Guinness World Record, Truphena will not eat food, drink water, or take a bathroom break. Moreover, the girl had to endure the rain, and many people were very worried for her.

On Wednesday, December 10, at 12:25 pm, Nyeri residents, led by Governor Mutahi Kahiga, showed up to continue being with him and also to learn about his mission.

In his quest to beat the record this time, just like last time, Truphena shared that he should not drink water, eat, or take a bathroom break. However, he is okay with that because he has prepared in advance.

How did Truphena prepare:

Part of the exercise is walking for hours; to increase my strength, I walked for 42 kilometers. I have also practiced a lot of hugging trees; I have done one for 35 hours and the other for 60 hours.

I also fast or eat one meal a day… I’m healthy enough to do that, and before applying for the Guinness World Record, they have to check if you’re healthy enough to do that.
