Nairobi – Education Minister Julius Migos Ogamba has officially released the results of the 2025 Kenya Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) examinations.

How many students took the KJSEA 2025 exams?
The exam, which was held between October 27 and November 3, 2025, was designed to test the readiness of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) starter group who are now moving to high school in January 2026.
Announcing the results, CS Ogamba disclosed that all 1,130,459 students who took the exams will be placed on secondary school pathways.
“Today, we are releasing the KJSEA results to 1,130,459 students, all of whom will be placed on high school pathways to lay the foundation for pursuing careers of their choice. Of the 1,130,459 students who took the KJSEA 2025, 578,630 were male, 551,829 were female, representing 51.19% and 48.81% of the total students, respectively,” Ogamba said.

The Minister of Education said female students performed better than their male counterparts in 10 out of 12 subjects.
Unlike traditional tests, results are provided without ranking, placing students into four performance categories: Exceeding Expectations, Meeting Expectations, Nearing Expectations, and Below Expectations.
The Minister of Education said the change in classification was aimed at reducing unfair competition among students and schools.
How to check KJSEA 2025 result online through smartphone.
Unlike previous years, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has introduced a new method for candidates to get their 2025 KJSEA exam results.
“2025 KJSEA candidates can get their results online through http://kjsea.knec.ac.ke; students enter their assessment number and any registered names,” Minister Ogamba said.

- Enter your index number and one of your names in the fields provided. (Enter your index number and one of yours names in the designated fields.
- Accept the privacy and access notice (Accept the privacy and access notice)
- Click on ‘View your results’
