Did Murkomen praise police officers returning from Haiti?

The officials traveled to Haiti in June 2024 during the term of the Vice President Kithur Kindikiwho was then the Minister of the Interior.

“The officers’ discipline, integrity, and respect for the dignity of the people they served stood out, a success that speaks of their character, values, and training. We also used the opportunity to honor three brave officers who paid a heavy price in their work, consoling their families and assuring them of our support,” Murkomen said.

The officers returned a day after another group of 230 officers from various forces and units of the NPS left for the Caribbean nation to reinforce the forces that were already on the ground as part of the GSF.

This is in line with the promise of President William Samoei Ruto that even with the GSF transition, Kenya will not leave Haiti in a random way.

What did Murkomen warn police officers against?

While talking to the officers who returned home safely, Murkomen advised them not to invest in betting or marrying second wives.

He advised those facing problems to seek guidance before their money is wasted on bad habits.

“You have to invest in something that you and your family can remember. Don’t be in a hurry. Please don’t invest in betting and other evils. You went to fight and you came back. You are a hero, and being a hero comes with power, so you have to be able to control that power.

If you don’t control it, you will come home, and the authorities will tell you that this money you have earned, no matter how small, you have earned it in dollars, so to feel its value, get a second wife. I know you have a lot of issues to deal with, including debts and school fees, but you can take part of what you earned and invest in something that you will one day tell people about after visiting Haiti,” he advised.

Did Murkomen encourage parents to guide children towards marriage?

At the same time, a few days ago, Murkomen warned that if parents do not take action, the younger generations may avoid marriage further.

Murkomen encouraged parents to start engaging their children about relationships as soon as they reach their twenties, noting that the current generation is not as organized as the previous one.

She stressed that open communication about dating, plans, and intentions is important for a family to thrive and for a clan to continue.

According to him, nothing should be taken lightly, as young people can be unpredictable when left without guidance.
