In his latest speech, the Kileleshwa MCA warned Babu, declaring that the success of the Nairobi gubernatorial candidate would mark the end of his political career.
How will Nairobi kill Babu’s politics?
During a Radio 47 interview, Alai said that running the Kenyan capital requires more than popularity, street appeal, or viral slogans.
He stressed that once Babu enters the City Hall, the demands of the office will overwhelm him and expose what he described as a major weakness of management.

According to Alai, the difficulties in Nairobi have broken strong political brands in the past, and will do the same for the outspoken MP.
“When Babu becomes the Governor of Nairobi, his political career will end. He will not be able to run this capital. This capital is very difficult. It needs great management skills. The day he enters that office, his politics will end,” Alai said.
Alai went further, comparing him to the current Governor Johnsonwhose political rise initially had national aspirations.
He noted that Sakaja was once given the responsibility of taking over the country’s presidency, adding that the ambition of the county head to be re-elected is doubtful.
Alai issued Sakaja’s challenges at City Hall as a warning to any ambitious politician seeking the office of governor.
“Didn’t Sakaja say he was waiting for the president? Now he can’t even be a waiting governor; even finishing one term as governor is a difficult thing for him. He doesn’t even know if he will finish or not,” he added.
Is Babu one of the best performing MPs?
The speaking MCA also targeted opinion polls which often gives the Member of Parliament a chance Embakasi East among the best performing MPs in the country.

He dismissed the studies as unreliable and suggested that they are often manipulated to show a positive image rather than reflect actual performance.
Alai said that true performance cannot be measured through popularity alone, saying that the impact of a member of parliament is best measured within the organized work of Parliament, especially in committees.
He accused the Member of Parliament for Embakasi East of not being relevant in the work of the parliament, claiming that Babu’s public image is driven more by spectacle than measurable results.
“According to which studies? Studies can be bought. Shouting on the loudspeaker is very pleasant. Shouting “tibim” and “tialala” sounds good. But more than slogans, the performance of a member of parliament is important. As a member of parliament, your performance is seen in the committees, parliamentary committees you sit on. How are you perceived even in those committees?” Alai asked.

According to the representative of Kileleshwa ward, MPs are judged by how they contribute to the committee, how they influence the law, and how they involve their colleagues on policy.
On that side, Alai claimed Owino is failing, saying Babu has not made any important contribution or led important discussions in Parliament.
“There is no committee where Babu sits for more than two minutes. In the Finance Committee, not a single day have you seen his contribution, and there is no debate that he can lead. Even today, you can look at YouTube, there is no debate in Parliament where he has spoken without insulting his fellow MP. There is no performance there. That is an empty debate,” MCA added.
