Where is Ferdinand Wanyonyi?
Speaking in parliament on Thursday, December 4, Wetang’ula explained that Wanyonyi was hospitalized for a month in Nairobi Hospital and was later flown to India on the recommendation of doctors.
“I want to inform Parliament that Ferdinand Wanyonyi, the First Member of Parliament, is not healthy. He was in Nairobi Hospital for about a month, and the doctors recommended that we send him to India. He is there. I am saying this because I want to send a message to the spreaders of bad rumors that he died and we are holding the information with bad intentions,” said the speaker.
The Speaker disclosed that he had spoken to the ill MP, whose condition was not disclosed, and assured MPs that he was responding well to treatment.
He also urged members of parliament to be careful and condemn individuals who spread false information about people’s conditions without meaningful intentions.
“Yesterday I had a conference call with him, and it was his wife who picked him up. This morning, the clerk did the same. Wanyonyi is not dead. He is responding well to treatment and is with his wife and daughter. I have personally contacted them.
This can happen to any MP; we should condemn people who exploit people’s problems and spread bad rumors that are of no value to anyone, not even themselves,” Wetang’ula warned.
