On Wednesday, December 3, Kindiki welcomed 60 members of parliament Kenya First from Embu, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Murang’a, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Nakuru, Nairobi and Lamu Counties in his Karen residence.

Kindiki used the meeting to thank the members of parliament for their dedication, commitment, and cooperation that led to the election of Leo Wamuthende of UDA as Member of Parliament for Mbeere North Constituency.

“I thank each of you for the great contribution you made to ensure our success in the by-election. We are ending the year with a bang. We are grateful because you gave everything to ensure we win Mbeere North,” Kindiki said.

Kindiki, who led the campaigns that culminated in the victory of Wamuthende, said they ensured that the movement remained in line with the issues despite the opponents’ attempts to force them to insult and engage in other unproductive matters. The deputy head attacked the opponents, saying they had no agenda to sell to the residents of Mbeere North, and that they only decided to insult the leaders.

“Our opponents thought they would defeat us, but with your efforts, we won decisively. They had nothing to say to the people but insult anyone they could think of,” the deputy president said.

Kindiki said that Wamuthende’s political message was correct and won people over from the opposition candidate.

Speaking at the forum, Wamuthende thanked Kindiki for his tirelessness and focus, saying it was his leadership that brought victory to the UDA party.

“I thank the DP for changing the direction on our behalf. Before you came, things were very hot. I am humbled by your efforts, it was clear that the seat was not only for Mbeere but for Kenya,” Wamuthende said.

Kindiki said that he used the meeting to review progress in the implementation of important development projects and programs in their states and to agree on mechanisms to accelerate the completion of ongoing projects.

Majority Leader in Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah and Embu County Governor and UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire were among the leaders who attended.
