Passaris emphasized that the President currently has no major opponent as the country heads to the 2027 General Elections.

The member of parliament said that although the opposition is trying to create unity, none of its main leaders, individually or as a coalition, match the speed and success of the President at the moment.

Why does Ruto have no opponent in 2027?

In an interview with TV 47 on Wednesday, December 3, Passaris said that the President’s record so far has placed him high, especially in development programs that touch various sectors.

He mentioned creating jobs, strengthening food security, and health reform as areas where the President has shown clear progress.

He said that this success that upholds the rights of the people makes it difficult for a political opponent to build a solid argument against him in the next election.

According to Passaris, the large employment of teachers recently and the improvement of the national health system through the Social Health Authority (SHA) is evidence of the government responding to the needs of the people.

He also mentioned the government’s efforts in infrastructure, housing, and youth programs as National Youth Service (NYS), saying they are signs of sustainable service delivery.

However, Passaris emphasized that currently, no one in politics approaches the President, pointing out that there is no one who would want to depose a leader who is doing a good job.

“Right now, I will tell you, for the work the President is doing for this country, there is no opponent, right opponent at the moment to stop William Ruto from continuing. And why would you want to remove someone who is doing well? I meant, 100,000 teachers are being given jobs, NYS, food security, infrastructure, housing, NHIF, he is doing what he has to do,” said Passaris.

He noted that if Wiper failed to get support even in the capital, where Azimio was widely supported at the time, then the party has no basis to oppose Ruto nationally.

“Who? Who? Do you know, Kalonzo Musyoka with which party? The Wiper party. Ah, Wiper is not strong. If you look at Wiper, looking only at Nairobi, well, we were in the Declaration, everyone had candidates. Wiper only had one member of parliament. This is the capital city,” he added.
