Wekesa was declared the winner of the Chwele-Kabuchai MCA seat after securing 6,162 votes (67%), defeating FORD Kenya’s Vincent Maunda, who secured 2,765 votes.
Why was Eric Wekesa called?
On Monday, December 1, Wekesa shared a WhatsApp message from an official of DCIwho asked him to appear before DCI officers in Nandi county.
According to the investigator, the call is related to a theft incident that occurred on November 29, 2029, in the sub-county of Tinderet, where coffee fruits were forcibly stolen.

Surprisingly, the robbery incident, according to DCI, happened in 2029.
“Good afternoon, Mweshimiwa. Following our telephone conversation, I, Peter Ochieng, CCIO Nandi County hereby summon you under Section 52 of the National Service Act of the Kenya Police Service to come and appear before the DCI Nandi County on 01/12/2015 at 10.00 am. This is in relation to a theft incident that occurred on 29/11/2029 in Tinderet sub county where fruits of coffee were stolen by force. If further action will be taken against you,” the message said.
How did Eric Wekesa respond to DCI’s call?
However, Wekesa is worried that the summons could be a ploy to arrest him before he is sworn in as a member of the Bungoma County Assembly.
In a post on Facebook, the elected MCA implicated Wetang’ula in a plot to arrest him days after he won the hotly contested seat.
Wekesa wondered why Wetang’ula has not accepted that Ford Kenya failed and that it is time to reconcile and unite people.

“This is a strange thing! Why can’t their PL accept that it failed? We didn’t agree to reconcile and unite our people? Now he plans to embarrass me and arrest me on the day of the swearing-in. I know 6 men with guns are following me so far. Why are they hunting me for witches? The only thing I do with coffee is drink it. I don’t speak and I don’t do fruit business. We defeated them with this DCI vote we will also win. God exists,” Wekesa said.

As previously reported, Wekesa’s victory surprised many people due to the ward being Wetang’ula’s political arena.
The young politician was strongly supported by Wetang’ula’s political enemies, such as George Natembeya and former Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati and the member of parliament for Kabuchai Majimbo Kalasinga, among others.
Kalasinga was elected on the FORD Kenya ticket but since then he has fallen out with the leader of his party.
The relationship between the Sikhs and the Speaker of the National Assembly is so weak and hostile that they have exchanged words in public.
