Did Wamatangi respond to the shot fired at his house?
The shooting incident that happened when the governor was inspecting his house, has created a sense of anxiety, political tension and questions about whether the incident was luck serious or perceived threat.
For Wamatangi, the case is more than random firing, with the governor saying that the initial assessments by experts show that the shot came from a more powerful gun.
Early results have heightened his concerns, as the shot appears to have been fired from hundreds of meters away and in broad daylight around 3pm.
“The experts who have spoken about this, although we are still waiting for the final report, say that the shot was fired from a powerful rifle, something like an AK-47. That means that from where we are standing now, about 50 meters from my house, the person who shot was 200 or 300 meters from here. And it was day, not night; afternoon, three o’clock in the afternoon,” Wama said.
He has since appealed directly to the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, saying the matter needs serious attention.
According to him, the security apparatus of the area has been slow, unresponsive and unclear about developments, stressing that the investigation needs stricter attention.
Wamatangi insists that nothing should be left to rumours, wanting the natural response of the shooting that was initiated, the weapon identified and the motive of the shooting to be made clear.

Did the bullet fired at the Wamatangi residence injure anyone?
The fact that the bullet was found intact, and was not hidden or removed, he said, makes it possible for investigators to determine its source.
The description of the neighbor has increased the concern as he remembered hearing the sound of metal on his roof but thought it was a stone.
It passed and tore the corrugated iron before landing in the children’s bedroom and while the resident said he did not realize what had happened and continued with his activities.
He dusted himself off the bed and went about his day, then later he discovered a hole that led him to a bullet on the ground.
“I heard something hitting metal sheets. When I looked, I thought it was a stone. I went and wiped the bed, then I came back. I didn’t think much. Then I saw a hole in the steel, and when I looked down, I saw this bullet,” said the neighbor.
