President Donald Trump has sparked outrage following remarks about Somali immigrants in the United States.

Speaking at the Cabinet meeting at the White House on Tuesday, December 2, Trump said they do not want Somali immigrants in the United States and asked them to return to their country of origin.
Why does Trump want Somalis to leave the United States?
His comments come amid allegations of plans by immigration authorities to carry out operations in Minnesota, which has a large Somali community.
According to Trump, Somalia ‘is very difficult to be a country. They have nothing; they have nothing. They just run to kill each other. There is no structure.’
“I don’t want them in our country, I’ll be honest with you. Someone will say, ‘Oh, that’s not politically correct.’ I don’t care. They have a very bad policy,” he said.
Trump claimed that Somalia has bad policies, contributes little to development, and relies heavily on donations.
Are Somalis dependent on donations in the US?
He claimed that billions have been wasted in Minnesota without meaningful development.
“There is something wrong with them. They have robbed Minnesota of billions of dollars, and they are not contributing anything. Welfare is equal to 88 percent. Their country is not good for a reason. Their country stinks. They are people who do nothing but complain. They came from hell and complained. Go back to where they came from and fix it,” he added.
He further warned that the United States is in the final stages if it continues to take what he termed as ‘garbage.’
Trump also directed his criticism at Minnesota representative Ilhan Omar, a Democrat and the first Somali-American to be elected to Congress, with whom they have often been at odds.

“I always look up to him. He’s a terrible person,” Trump said, adding that Omar “hates everybody. And I think he’s an incompetent person. Omar is trash, his friends are trash.”
