During the interview with Digital Opinion Shapers On Monday, December 1, Wanyonyi criticized the party of his brother Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Ford Kenya for the way they ran their campaign.

According to the Westlands MP, some leaders in Bungoma county have been believing in using force to get into power.

However, he said the recent Kabuchai by-election showed that selling fear and threats can no longer convince voters.

Wanyonyi said the residents of Chwele-Kabuchai voted in large numbers for Eric Wekesa, an independent candidate, despite the use of force by Ford Kenya party leaders.

“There are people who believe that they can get power by force. In Kabuchai recently, when they tried that it didn’t work. They were telling people ‘they will walk while running’, in other insulting words, but it didn’t work; it failed. The people who were selling that fear refused and voted the way they did. So no one can force you to do what you don’t want,” Wanyonyi.
