Betty died on Monday, November 10, at the Kenyatta National Hospital, where she was receiving treatment after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia.

She is survived by her two children, Sky Victor and Danivictor, who she shared with Kanyari, and her husband, Hiram Gitau, also known as Tash, whom she married after separating from the preacher.

Is Kanyari a responsible father?

Even before Betty was laid to rest on November 20, fierce debates arose over who would care for her children.

Kanyari has been vocal about her desire to take care of her children, although many think that Tash may also have a say, given her close relationship with them.

The preacher has repeatedly emphasized his role as a responsible father, sometimes sharing previous WhatsApp conversations with Betty and even revealing the huge amount he contributed towards their school fees.

Are Kanyari and Tash in touch?

During a recent sermon at his church, Kanyari opened up about his relationship with Tash.

He claimed that although they have exchanged messages through text messages and WhatsApp, the conversations have been superficial and rarely touch on matters concerning children.

“I said hello, and he said hello, and now I started to wonder what was going on. ‘Come on,’ he replies, ‘Come on.’ ‘Mum,’ he replies ‘ma.’ I even started to wonder, will he even hand over the children to me or what? I never told him to give me back the children. The other day, he called me and said that he doesn’t have a problem with me and that I don’t have a problem with him either. He said that we love each other, and I agreed,” Kanyari claimed.
