Speaking during a church service on November 30, Gachagua claimed that he and Kalonzo had agreed on a new power-sharing formula in Nairobi.

He said the DCP will control all major seats in the capital, including the governorship, senator, women’s representative, 16 out of 17 parliamentary seats, and 75 out of 85 ward seats.

Kalonzo responded to Gachagua’s remarks in Nairobi.

Kalonzo quickly dismissed the remarks, calling them pure political propaganda.

He made his remarks at the AIC Church in Mukuni, Machakos county, where he attended a thanksgiving ceremony for Anthony Kisoi, the Wiper candidate who won the recent Mumbai by-election.

The Wiper boss pointed to the opposition’s recent victories in some by-elections, including Narok and in the home turf of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, saying the ruling party has turned to misinformation after realizing it is losing ground.

“And stop the propaganda that Wiper will deny all the seats in Nairobi to DCP. They should try everything, try to create a conflict between Kalonzo and Gachagua. We will do our best,” he said.

The opposition opposes the results of Mbeere North, Malava

Kalonzo also revealed that the opposition will go to court to challenge the victory of UDA in Malava and Mbeere North.

He emphasized that the President William Ruto he knows his party did not win fairly.

He directly accused Ruto of interfering in the vote.

“He knows that person. We have evidence that he called the Officer’s Leadership Center in some stations in Mbeere, saying his candidate Leo Wamuthende must win. Direct interference. We will come up with a very serious approach to this matter,” he said.

He said the residents of Mbeere Kaschini and Malava are hurting because their democratic will was weakened.

Kalonzo said that police officers and hired thugs were used to intimidate voters, adding that some thugs were openly working with law enforcement.

Kalonzo cited cases of voter intimidation and hastily counted.

“We will have a clear and strong request. A young woman in Mbeere said that Ruto’s agents, led by Minister Geoffrey Ruku, pressured them to ensure that the pre-arranged votes of Wamuthende were there. Instead of counting votes in several polling stations, they were rushed. There was no counting of votes. This is clear,” he said.

He also addressed claims that Gen Z voters abstained and were disloyal.

Kalonzo said young voters would surprise Ruto in the next election.

“They are still taking their time, because they know the oppression, threats and bribery of voters,” he said.

Kalonzo went on to accuse Ruto’s allies of giving large sums of money to influence voters, saying misuse of public funds must be exposed.

“We also know that this is a very bad use of public resources. We will also clearly show which ministers were participating at that level and campaigning in public while giving insults, going against the Constitution which says that if you are a public official, you should not participate in political activities. We are looking at all this in general,” he said.

Is the opposition disintegrating due to the conflict between Gachagua and Matiang’i?

TUKO.co.ke previously reported that tensions within the opposition had increased, considering the rivalry between Gachagua and Fred Matiang’i.

Deputy organizing secretary of the Jubilee Party, Pauline Njoroge, revealed that internal strife among their supporters has been increasing, with online influencers exchanging insults and undermining efforts to build unity.

Njoroge warned that the toxic exchanges are not politically productive, they are driven by selfishness and personal interests instead of the opposition’s goal of opposing the current administration.

He stressed that there are no positions decided for senior leaders before the 2027 elections, making internal conflicts unnecessary and harmful.
