- Despite the fears and doubts, the results announced by the IEBC have received very few objections from the losers, some of them admitting early defeat.
Moses Omondi wins the Ugunja by-election
ODM has retained its Ugunja parliamentary seat which remained vacant following the appointment of Opiyo Wandayi as a minister in August 2024. Moses Omondi, who contested on the ODM ticket, was declared the winner after obtaining 9,447 votes, while his closest rival, Odhaimbo Orodi of the Wiper Democratic Front, obtained 1,819.
Ndakwa wins the Malava by-election
Candidate for UDA in the Malava by-election, David Ndakwa, has defeated Seth Panyako of DAP-K and won the tough race. According to the results announced by the election officer, Ndakwa got 21,564 votes against Panyako who got 20,210. The election was marred by violence that caused several people, including Panyako’s driver and security guard, to be seriously injured.
Today Muthende wins Mbeere North
Leonard Muthende of the UDA has defeated the DP candidate, Newton Kariuki popularly known as Karis, in the fierce Mbeere North parliamentary race. According to the official results announced by presiding officer John Kinyua, Muthende got 15,802 votes and defeated Kariuki who got 15,308 votes. The difference in votes between the two was only 494.
Boyd Were wins Kasipul by-election
ODM has returned the Kasipul parliamentary seat which remained vacant following the brutal killing of MP Ong’ondo Were in May 2025. The son of the late MP, Boyd Were, has won by a landslide after getting 16,819 votes against his main rival, Philip Aroko, who got 8,476. Aroko contested as an independent candidate.
