He made these statements while addressing Kiambu residents immediately after inspecting the construction of the Rironi-Mau Summit road with two gates in Kamandura.
“Will Kenya change or not? All the work to build houses and markets is only for two years. Now imagine what I can achieve in ten years. And what about 20 years? Kenya will definitely change,” said Ruto.
Ruto’s reason for encouraging Kenyans to reflect on his four-term leadership
He emphasized plans to give priority to modern infrastructure, better roads, large markets, better schools, and health services available in Kiambu, to ensure that the county becomes an example of development.
Ruto added that his view involves the whole nation.
“We will change the whole of Kenya without discrimination, race, or leaving any part. Because I understand the unity of our country Kenya. And when you gave me the opportunity to lead, you informed me that you do not choose based on race, but based on the perspective of development that can take Kenya forward,” he said.
He emphasized that through strategic investments, public-private partnerships, and committed leadership, Kenya can tackle long-term challenges such as unemployment, poor infrastructure, and unequal access to services.
He added that these efforts will help transform the country into a world-class nation.
How will the Rironi-Nakuru-Mau Summit road change Kenya?
The Rironi–Nakuru–Mau Summit road, an important axis connecting Nairobi to the Rift Valley and Western Kenya, is undergoing major changes.
The link will expand the Rironi–Naivasha section to four lanes and Naivasha–Nakuru to six lanes, thereby significantly reducing congestion, improving safety, and speeding up the movement of people and goods across the region.
Nearby routes, including the 58km Rironi–Maai Mahiu–Naivasha section, will also be upgraded, enhancing overall connectivity.
The KSh 170 billion project is implemented through a public-private partnership involving the National Social Fund (NSSF) and China Road and Bridge Corporation.
About 15,000 Kenyans are expected to benefit from employment opportunities during construction, increasing the economy of the areas surrounding the road.
In addition to reducing street congestion, this improved road is positioned as an important business axis for East and Central Africa.
It will facilitate fast and safe transportation of goods not only within Kenya but also to neighboring countries such as UgandaSouth Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
