An old man has been released from prison after serving 40 years in prison.

In an emotional video, the now-free man was captured looking stunned, seemingly overcome with a sense of freedom after years in prison.
He wore a gray suit, a pink shirt, a light blue hat and brown shoes.
Taken by his family from Embu Central Prison, the old man stood beside a man who appeared to be his son, holding his hand.
They spoke briefly with the prison authorities while waiting for his journey home.
When the black car approached, one soldier opened the car door for him, while another helped him get inside.
He slowly took his seat in the passenger side of the black car, taking in the reality of his new life as a free man.
He didn’t say anything, but shock and uncertainty were visible on his face.
