His family had previously stated that the 82-year-old politician was taking a short vacation in Dubai after a difficult and emotional schedule, especially after his brother’s funeral. Raila Odinga.
Concerns about his health disappeared after Raila’s long-time friend, Victor Marende, confirmed he had spoken to Oburu on the phone.
When will Oburu Oginga return to Kenya?
Marende said that Oburu, who is also a Siaya senator, will return to the country on Friday, November 28.
“I have just spoken to the leader of the party, Senator Oburu Oginga on the phone and he is safe. He is not sick. He will return to the country on Friday,” Marende wrote in a Facebook post.
The message has assured the community that the veteran politician is healthy and is just taking time to rest.
Before taking his short break, Oburu was heavily involved in ODM activities.
He played an important role in the 20th anniversary of the party in Mombasa, attended many public meetings, and led the campaigns of party candidates, including Boyd Were in Kasipul, Homa Bay.
He continued to meet with local leaders and participate in consultation sessions, showing his commitment to the party despite the busyness of political events and family grief.
What his son Oburu said about his whereabouts
TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Oburu’s son, Jaoko Oburu, said the break was a family decision, not the senator’s.
The break was aimed at giving him time to rest and regain strength.

What happened to Raila Odinga’s sister?
Oburu’s break was accompanied by sad news in the Odinga family following the death of Beryl Achieng Odinga.
The family said he died while receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital, and his body was later taken to Lee Mortuary.
Representative of Kisumu women, Ruth Odingaannounced the news online, expressing the family’s grief and saying that the tragedy has hurt the family a lot.
