A strange funeral of a woman being buried in a mat, the video is spreading rapidly on the Internet

In a video shared on TikToka deceased woman known as Aloyo Oliver was buried covered in a mat as family and mourners watched.

Before burial, five men lifted his body, which was kept inside a small mud house with a thatched roof.

They walked carefully, carrying the body towards the burial ground where the dug grave was already waiting.

At the cemetery, where other graves were also seen, Oliver’s body was first placed next to a six-foot pit while a woman prayed.

As he continued to pray, mourners joined him, singing in the local language before beginning a dirge.

Two men entered the grave first, while three others carefully lowered the body wrapped in a mat into the six-foot pit.

The video showed the bottom of the grave, where a blue and yellow handkerchief had been spread before the body was placed on it.

The comment section was full of people who were surprised by the absence of a casket, while others tried to explain the unique funeral tradition.

People give their opinion about the case

Opinions ranged from praise for a “traditional funeral” to criticism of the lack of a coffin, with some questioning why politicians did not contribute to the cost of the coffin.

The police have started an investigation to determine the circumstances of his death and the reason his family buried him without a coffin.

It is said that his relatives denied him a dignified burial because he never contributed to the funeral expenses of others.

Some family members were called by the police to record statements while the authorities investigated the matter.
