His death was confirmed by Governor Mutula Kilonzo, who expressed his deepest condolences in a press release on Saturday, November 22.
Munyao, a long-serving member of parliament in Mbooni state, was influential within the National Rainbow Alliance, where he also served as Livestock and Fisheries Development Minister.
When did Joseph Konzolo Munyao’s wife die?
“On behalf of the people of Makueni county, I offer my sincere condolences to the family, friends, and the entire community of Mbooni following the death of the former Member of Parliament for Mbooni, Joseph Konzolo Munyao. Munyao served our nation with dedication and humility, always devoting himself sincerely to the welfare of his constituents,” Kilonzo said.
The governor added that Munyao’s contributions to leadership and development will be remembered for a long time.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time.”
Munyao’s death comes more than a year after he lost his wife. In June 2024, mourners gathered at Karen’s home to offer condolences, and the ABC Makadara Choir visited her to pray with her.
One of the photos showed the priest greeting Munyao, who was wearing a khaki, shirt and sweater.
The choir apologized to the former MP, writing:
“We ask God to give you and the whole family peace and comfort during this difficult time.”
