Josh Babarinde, MP for Eastbourne, asked his girlfriend, Connor, to be his wife.
How did Babarinde organize a posa in parliament?
Using Facebook to share the news on Monday, November 17, Babarinde said the proposal was made after official activities were completed in the Parliament of Great Britain.
“With the Speaker’s permission last week, I asked a very special question in the House of Lords after the official business had concluded for the day – not to the Prime Minister, but to my partner Connor (on his birthday!) … and his answer was YES!”
According to the BBC, the Liberal Democrat, who has represented his home town of East Sussex since July last year, said he planned the surprise proposal after getting permission from the Speaker of the House of Commons. Babarinde said she and Connor will always remember their engagement day.

What did the president of Burundi say about homosexuals?
In other news, TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye sparked controversy after publicly advocating the stoning of same-sex couples during a recent public event.
The president condemned homosexuality as an abominable practice and proposed a brutal response to those who engage in same-sex relationships.
Ndayishimiye’s inflammatory remarks provoked strong criticism from the local and international communities.

However, the president’s call for public stoning takes the suffering of LGBTQ+ people to a new and horrifying level.
During the public event, Ndayishimiye also took the opportunity to criticize Western countries that defend the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
He stressed that Burundi will not surrender to those pressures even if it means denying foreign aid.
“Let them hold their support, hold it,” he said scornfully. The international community has previously reacted strongly to anti-LBGTQ+ laws in East Africa, particularly in Uganda, where a strict anti-homosexuality bill was signed into law in May.
