The results of the survey further indicated that the undecided voting bloc, which stands at 9.4%, could swing the race.

“The latest Mizani Africa survey for the Malava state by-election puts Seth Panyako in the lead with 47.2%, giving him a small but clear advantage as the most favored candidate at this stage. David Ndakwa follows closely behind with 40.3%, maintaining a competitive position and signaling that a potentially tight race should change. The other candidates together account for 3.1%, while the undecided group has 9.4%, indicating that a small but significant portion of the electorate is still undecided. With the undecided camp still open, both leading camps have a chance to shape voter trends as the by-election approaches.” Mizani Africa said.

Mizani Africa said that a comparison of previous surveys shows that Panyako has continued to strengthen his leadership, after rising from 44.7% to 47.2%.

“A comparison between Mizani Africa polls of November 7 and November 19 shows a highly competitive environment in Malava state by-elections. Seth Panyako has strengthened his lead, increasing from 44.7% earlier this month to 47.2% in the latest poll, showing an increase in support as the campaigns intensify,” the study showed.

“David Ndakwa has also made gains, rising from 37.9% to 40.3%, indicating an increase in appeal and new engagement among his supporters. His upward movement shows that both candidates are still actively shaping the opinion of voters within a narrow margin,” Mizani Africa said.
