The legendary radio host criticized McCarthy’s style of handling his job.

Why did Fred Arocho criticize Benni McCarthy?

He criticized the coach for joining the national team in Turkey before international friendlies.

While on his radio show, the big sports fan said that McCarthy did not take his job seriously, thus disrespecting Kenya.

He explained that the coach did not leave Kenya with the players, but joined them in Turkey.

“Our coach was not in Kenya. The coach can’t join his team in the front. Benni McCarthy, you must respect us. Respect us as a nation. We pay him a lot of money. We pay Benni McCarthy a lot of money. How can you join the team in Turkey?” said Arocho.

  • William Simba: “The big question is, is Benni McCarthy a Kenyan citizen by birth or registration?”
  • Lazarus Man: “Also, when you are given a job abroad, it is the employer’s responsibility to process his documents, such as work permits, visas, etc.”
  • Wycklife Speaks: “The coach must respect his job. The international holiday is not an emergency; it is on the football calendar and any planned activity is not an emergency. He had to leave with the players, not join them up front. Arocho is fine.”
  • Gidi Francis Mbori Jr.: “Arocho is always right when he criticizes Manchester and we see his reason, so Arocho’s words should be respected, this is a football professor.”
  • Stanley Ndiwa: “Unnecessary conflicts for me… When things fail, people will talk… It’s not a big deal after all we don’t have progress in the championship… Now these noises of yours have no basis or meaning at all, my opinion as a former player in the Kenyan football league.”
