The construction of Talanta Sports City continues to gather pace, with the stadium making fine progress to be fully completed before the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which Kenya will co-host.
New footage from the site has nor shown significant milestones in the development of what will become one of Kenya’s most modern sporting arenas.
Situated at the Jamhuri Grounds in Nairobi, the stadium is rapidly taking shape as structural, aesthetic, and functional elements fall into place.

One of the most striking visuals from the current stage of construction is the installation of the roof canopy metalwork.
Massive steel trusses are now being positioned atop the stadium’s superstructure, forming the skeleton of the canopy that will eventually cover the seating bowl. This progress marks a transition into advanced structural works, signaling that the outer form of the stadium is entering its final definition.
Equally impressive is the ongoing installation of the curtain wall system, the transparent and reflective façade that will wrap around much of the stadium exterior.
Workers can be seen fitting the framing and panels that will give the stadium its sleek, modern look. Once complete, the curtain wall will not only enhance aesthetics but also help improve interior lighting and energy efficiency.

Perhaps the most encouraging milestone for stadium planners and fans alike is that all terraces have now been fully completed. The stepped concrete seating platforms rise uniformly throughout the stadium, clearly outlining the final bowl shape and giving a true sense of the venue’s scale.
With terrace construction complete, the project has effectively finalized the spectator structure, paving the way for installation of seats, concourses, and internal amenities.
